Dr. Hunter Boylan has served the field of developmental education for over 40 years.  He served as President of the National Association for Developmental Education, Chair of the American Council of Developmental Education Associations, Director of the Doctoral Program in Developmental Education at Grambling State University, Editor of Research in Developmental Education, Principal Investigator for the National Study of Developmental Education, and Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Developmental Education, the Journal of College Reading and Learning, and the Journal of Teaching and Learning.  He has authored eight books and 117 articles as well as over 320 presentations and keynote addresses at regional, national, and international conferences.  Dr. Boylan has served on a variety of advisory boards for organizations such as the Carnegie Foundation, the Center for the Analysis of Postsecondary Education, the Council for Adult Literacy, and the National Organization for Student Success. He has been widely known as a speaker and expert consultant and is frequently quoted in the media for his views on developmental education.  He has also been a leader in the movement to ensure that developmental education reform is grounded in science and research.
